Maui has a number of horseback riding tours available for group or private rides. Also, the skill level required for the rider ranges from beginner to advanced, so if you have always wanted to ride a horse in the pineapple fields or along Haleakala this would be your opportunity. As far as riding on the beach, I don't think it is available on Maui; looks like you will have to go to Mexico for that.

However, my wife did work at Ironwood Ranch for about three years as a guide. Ironwood Ranch is a horseback tour on Maui's west side. Specifically, the ranch is in Napil and they have a van that will pick you up and drop you back off at your hotel (if you are on the west side). Gail's Maui vacation condo is at The Whaler and Ironwood Ranch will provide the shuttle service if you choose to ride with them.
